Östra Real Gymnasium is a prestigious and popular high school centrally located on Karlavägen in Östermalm and is now seeking a teacher of Swedish and English.

We are the natural step towards higher education and offer college preparatory programs EK, SA, NA with various specializations and profiles. We also have groups in the Social Science program with a special educational profile for students with autism spectrum diagnoses and Language Introduction for newly arrived students.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a certified teacher of Swedish and English to work with us. The position is in the economics program and is a temporary position starting on Friday, August 8, 2025.

As a teacher, you will be fully responsible for the courses including planning, teaching, examinations, assessments, grading, and evaluation.

At Östra Real Gymnasium, teachers work in subject teams and you are expected to actively contribute to the development of the school and the subject through collaboration and dialogue with other teachers and staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for an engaged teacher with strong subject knowledge who has the ability to inspire students and create focus, a conducive working environment, and a good atmosphere. The basic requirement is that you have a teaching license with qualifications to teach Swedish and English at the high school level.

We are looking for a teacher who is interested in good dialogue with students and who sees the students' high goals as a positive challenge. You are expected to actively work to clarify and communicate grading criteria and the fundamentals of assessment while also identifying the student's developmental needs. You should have good communication skills and speak and write fluent Swedish. Experience with formative assessment is an advantage.

Your view on knowledge and students is important to us. We work student-centered to challenge all students. This means we start at a level where all students are included and then challenge them with a varied approach.

As we use IT in communication with students and staff, you are expected to have good IT skills and be interested in actively working with IT in teaching. We are looking for a teacher with good collaboration skills and an interest in cooperating with other teachers in subject and work teams.

At Östra Real, we actively work with mentorship and want development conversations to be valuable for students' growth. Therefore, we would like you to have experience working as a mentor, to be engaged in students' development and goal fulfillment, and to be skilled at communicating and guiding students on an individual level.
